Not accepting new clients.
Do you find yourself wondering why you feel a certain way, why you behave the way you do, or why you have difficulties in the relationships in your life? A lot of us have open wounds or persistent negative beliefs about ourselves that cause problems and create barriers in our lives. We may not realize how they impact us. Sometimes these feelings start showing up in the form of depression, anxiety, or panic. At times they show up as that ever-present voice in our head telling us we’re not good enough or something is wrong with us. They might show up in our relationships, confusing us about why we just can’t make the changes we want.
Admitting to ourselves we need help can be a struggle. We could still feel resistant, like we should be able to handle this. Or maybe we have avoided for so long it’s scary to think of what might come to the surface when we start looking. It can also be a relief knowing there are professionals who are aware of this struggle and are here to help. That’s where I come in!
It’s important to have a therapist that is a good fit. If you aren’t sure yet, here is more about me professionally and personally:
Degree: Master of Clinical Social Work
Who I work with: Individuals and Couples ages 18+
My approach: My therapy approach is educational and explorative. You will learn a lot about the brain and body and how they play a role in our internal and external experience of the world. You will also learn a lot about yourself and the root of your problems.
I know how difficult it can be to open up. So I try my hardest to provide a space that is safe, supportive, and collaborative. I will honor and respect all your experiences—current or past.
My main treatment modality is EMDR. Learn more about that here. With this, I use a trauma-informed lens throughout my practice. I also use a mixture of other evidence-based methods including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Positive Psychology.
My interests: My “work” is also what I enjoy in my free time! I easily geek out over mindfulness, neuroscience, the nervous system, or breathwork. Everything I recommend, I have already tried myself or will soon. Outside of this I love a good book, time spent outdoors with my dog Hank, and being present with friends and family.
In-network Insurances: Blue Cross Blue Sheild, Health Partners, Optum (including Medica, UHC, UMR)
If you think we are a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
