Not accepting new clients.

Facing hardships is something we all have in common. How each of us experience those hardships varies based on who we are, where we come from, what expectations we may have had, and what information we had at the time. Sometimes the hardship was not feeling safe growing up, for example not feeling like you could be yourself or being bullied. A hardship could also be a medical diagnosis, a car accident, being the victim or witness to a crime, a phobia, losing a loved one...and the list goes on. If you are ready to face what hardships you have experienced and how it’s impacted you, I would be honored to help you in this journey.

Pronouns: She/Her

Who I work with: Individual Clients 16+

Preferred Approach: I am not a sit and listen type of therapist. My approach is based in Evidence Based Trauma Therapy. Mostly utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (learn more about EMDR here), supported with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and an educational approach to reduce symptoms my clients come in with. I also believe laughter is very therapeutic and utilize it as appropriate.

Concerns I use EMDR to help with: PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Other Stress, Panic, Anger, Difficulty establishing or maintaining relationships, Fears, Negative thoughts about yourself

Outcome Goals: EMDR therapy aims to help individuals reprocess difficult or traumatic memories (even if you do not remember them), adaptively integrate them (reducing their emotional charge), which alleviates associated symptoms, ultimately promoting emotional healing and well-being. In addition, negative beliefs like I am not safe, I don't belong, It's my fault are replaced with the positive counterparts you would rather believe.

Education: I completed my undergraduate degree at North Dakota State University, Fargo in Family Science with a Psychology Minor. I received my Masters in Science at Minnesota State University, Mankato in Community Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage Family Therapy.

I love to continue to learn more in the field and am currently enrolled in a training to work with police officers through the Adler Institute that will wrap up mid February 2024, then I am lined up to get a certification in ADHD as it has a link to trauma, and currently self-learning about Polyvagal Exercises to add further supportive features to my EMDR work with clients who need additional help feeling safe and connected.

In-network Insurances: Blue Cross Blue Sheild, Optum (Medica, UHC, UMR), Health Partners, Ucare, TriCare

About Me: I enjoy time with my family and friends, either playing games or hanging out around a bonfire. I enjoy watching Comedies, Action-Adventure, Fantasy, and Sci-fi movies and shows. And I do like to take time to travel and explore new places when I can.
